Jamie O'Brien, Partner, Manchester; Julian Bisson, Partner, Leeds and Philip Gibb, Senior Surveyor, Manchester were recently joined by 13 clients to complete a route visiting the peaks of Coniston Old Man, Swirl How and Wetherlam - three of the main summits of the Coniston Fells.
The team of climbers came from companies including 3D Reid, Howlings Hodgson, The Northern Trust Company, John Laing and Eversheds, completing the nine-mile route, which ascends some 3,600 feet, in just under six hours.
Jamie O'Brien comments: "The weather for the climb was absolutely perfect, with no rain, cool enough to be comfortable and we even had the sun coming out for us when we stopped for lunch at the summit of the Coniston Old Man. The views from the three peaks really take your breath away and make the 3,600 ft climb less difficult, although I think there were some aching legs the next day!"
After descending back into Coniston, the climbing party stayed at local landmark The Black Bull Inn for dinner and well-deserved local beer, made on-site at the pub's very own micro-brewery.
Julian Bisson comments: "A good pub is always a welcome sight after a long days walking. It was a great chance to relax, speak to our friends in the industry and, with a pint pot of 'Old Man Ale' in our hand the evening went very quickly indeed!"
