Project Services

Print this pageprint

Project Services provides the managerial and administrative functions associated with building projects. It includes contract administration, employer's agent, lead consultant, design services and acting as CDM coordinator. With extensive experience in projects with values up to £5m across all market sectors, building types and sizes, we provide comprehensive project services for investors, owners and occupiers.

Objectives
Our overriding objective is to provide sound, concise technical advice, managing projects both to budget and programme.  Importantly, we always aim to add value to every project, whilst administering the building contract transparently and impartially to minimise dispute.

Diversity of experience
We have worked on schemes with construction values ranging from £30k to £5m across the office, retail, shopping centre, industrial and residential market sectors.  Project types range from refurbishment to, fit out, new build and repair and maintenance schemes.  We have experienced teams providing comprehensive services from our network offices across the UK and Ireland.

Individualised approach
As with all our services at Malcolm Hollis we work very hard to deliver value for money and strive to ensure that our service always matches each client's particular needs.  For instance, our approach to an instruction from a client who has a great deal of previous project exposure will be quite different from an instruction for a project 'novice'.  Our approach is always pragmatic and we are effective in bringing our experience to the client's benefit.  We provide an appropriate strategy, tailored specifically to enable each project to progress as efficiently as possible.

Strategy
Construction projects require strategic planning and coordination from the start.  From defining the client's objectives, we often undertake feasibility studies and then advise on an appropriate route to procurement and scheme implementation, relative to the integrity of the investment.  Our level of experience, together with our sound technical knowledge and excellent communication skills, means that we offer a consistently high level of service and produce unambiguous documentation.  This helps to ensure that the appropriate time, cost and quality controls are put in place to minimise the risks in project delivery.

Cross-discipline knowledge
Construction projects often require skills that cut across a large number of disciplines.  We have a wide range of expert knowledge available in-house, as and when their involvement is necessary, including quantity surveyors, party wall surveyors, dilapidations experts, architects, services consultants and associated technical support.

Skills
The specialist skills of our staff means that we are well placed to:  develop concepts; advise on procurement methods; obtain statutory approvals; design and specify practical, robust and cost-effective technical details; effectively administer building contracts; provide budgetary advice, and; manage the cost of construction projects to achieve each client's goal.

Many of the chartered surveyors working in this field also hold, or are working towards other recognised industry qualifications.  Regular monitoring of work at all levels and appropriate life-long learning initiatives are constantly maintained to ensure that our clients consistently receive the best service available.
